When we first featured Claudia Barbiere from Pretty Bites in 2024, her passion for creativity, quality and growing her business was already shining through. Fast forward to today, and Pretty Bites has reached exciting new heights. From launching educational resources for fellow bakers to producing thousands of custom cookies for some of Australia's biggest brands, Claudia has continued to evolve and inspire. We caught up with her to see where her business journey has taken her, what she's learned along the way, and what's next for Pretty Bites.

1. It's been a little while since we last caught up! Since we featured you in Cake Crumbs, your business has gone from strength to strength. Can you tell us what you've been working on and what inspired you to create your new collection of online resources?

Yes, it absolutely has, and thank you so much! Pretty Bites keeps growing, and it’s so exciting to see the business expand as we take on new clients, reach new followers and make more cookies.

I created these resources as I found that every time I shared content on my socials, whether it was an Instagram reel or a TikTok, I’d get so many messages and comments with people questioning my process. People wanted to know where I bought something from, why I used a certain method, how I did a certain trick and so forth, so I thought, "How can I answer all of these questions and give people the answers they’re after?", which is how the idea really came about.

2. Congratulations on launching your cookie decorating video, Dream Bakery Business Guide, Baking Tips & Tricks, and Supplier Guide! Who are these resources designed for, and what can customers expect to take away from them?

Thank you! These resources are ultimately designed to give all of my followers and those who come across our brand a chance to build something just like Pretty Bites. They can be for anyone from passionate home bakers to those building their skillset just as a hobby or those with an established business wanting to expand their knowledge and experience.

The resources each focus on different aspects and grant them insight into all of my personal advice, tips & tricks and experiences that have been formulated in my time at Pretty Bites.

Readers should feel full of knowledge after reading these resources; they’re super thorough but broken down into chapters and segments for ease of understanding too.

3. We're honoured to have been included in your Supplier Guide. When choosing suppliers for your business, what qualities are most important to you, and why did you choose to recommend Edible Image Supplies?

When finding suppliers, it's super important to rely on businesses that offer a product that improves the efficiency of our process, adds value to our product, or amplifies our designs. Edible Image Supplies, along with the others featured in my Supplier Guide, is a list of brands that I heavily rely on for the success and execution of the product we create.

There are over 30 brands and businesses in the Supplier Guide, categorised into different sections like fondant brands, cutters and stamps, edible printing, electric machinery, sprinkles and more.

Businesses like Edible Image Supplies are ones I can (and do) purchase from time and time again, knowing I am receiving something of high quality and great consistency, which is largely important for forming the base of reliable suppliers.

4. Edible printing has become a big part of your business. How has owning an Edible Image Supplies printing system helped you create custom products, save time, or grow your business?

Having an Edible Image Supplies printing system has been such an influential and important part of my business. It opened up a whole world of new corporate clientele for us and has allowed us to work with so many exciting brands and businesses over the years.

The pre-cut icing sheets are a huge time saver and are perfect for everyday use, as they are just ready to go; they allow us to turn over hundreds of printed logo cookies a day, so we’re always prepared for last-minute and large-scale requests.

5. Many of our customers are considering investing in their first edible printing system. Based on your experience, what advice would you give someone who's thinking about taking the plunge?

Personally, buying an edible ink printing system was an extremely worthwhile investment for my business and totally transformed how we work. I know it may not be the right move for everyone, but the cost is totally justifiable by the opportunities it grants, so if they have customers seeking printed image cookies or feel their demand is expanding, then I definitely think it's worth taking the plunge.

6. Finally, have you got a new proudest business achievement since your previous blog feature?

There have been a few! We’ve used Edible Image Supplies pre-cut edible icing sheets for two very important clients this year. The first was hundreds of MCoBeauty branded pink tennis balls which were used at the Australian Open in Melbourne, and the second was 1000 soccer balls just a few weeks ago for the FIFA World Cup Corporate Launch Event!
