We’re often asked, "How many prints will I get from a full set of edible ink cartridges?" It’s a great question—but not always a simple one to answer.

At Edible Image Supplies, we give a conservative estimate of 30 to 40 full-page A4 prints per full set of edible ink cartridges. This gives customers a realistic starting point, especially when printing vibrant designs on our edible icing sheets.

That said, many of our regular users get much more, particularly when printing:

• Smaller designs (like cupcake toppers)
• Low-ink graphics (like text or logos)
• Using efficient printer settings

Why It’s Hard to Give an Exact Number

There are a few reasons the number of prints can vary:

• Ink is used during test prints and cleaning cycles
• The printer may use ink each time it turns on or off
• Some colours (like black or magenta) may run out faster than others based on your design
• Environmental factors and printer condition can also make a difference

Because of all this, it’s genuinely impossible to give a precise number of prints—but rest assured, our edible inks are formulated to deliver consistent, high-quality results when used properly.

Tips from the Experts:

✅ Always keep a spare set of edible ink cartridges on hand, just in case a colour runs out right before a last-minute order. You don’t want to be caught short when something needs to go out the door in 10 minutes!

✅ Always check your ink levels by physically looking at the cartridges. Don’t rely on the printer or device display—those indicators are often inaccurate, especially with edible printing.
